Beyond the Black Stump
We packed up and headed off; but we couldn't get going too early in the morning It was so cold; both foggy and frosty. Its like sleeping in a tin can on the front lawn and for some unknown reason the heater isn't working in the morning. Not much fun for Greg trying to deal with hoses, icy cold caravan legs, puting the kayak on the roof etc.
Today was about doing some kms. so we headed north stopping at Gulgong. Actually drove down Mayne Street ( the windy main street-another gold mining town) and shock horror it was packed with people, buskers, street stalls and cars as there was a Henry Lawson festival on. Single lane and barely room for the rig but luckily we got through before any damage done. Walked about a bit and stretched our legs.
Then back on the road, a road side stop for lunch,
through Dunedoo
and beyond “the black stump”.
Our stopping place is a tiny settlement called Premer
