The long road

Lots of kilometers to be travelled today, about 630 to be exact. Despite the long hours in the car the day wasn't dull. It went quite quickly. Lots of different bush to look at, some interesting loads on the road and a stop, walk, coffee and stretch every two hours or so. The Kindle got a work out and I've almost finished the book, a real page turner. Ran out of radio reception so the MP3 player kept us guessing the artists as we sang along.

First stop for fuel was Balladonia.

Greg and Daim has stopped there on their epic trip across in the old commodore and discovered yummy home made muffins. We indulged again.

Then it was the longest stretch of straight road in Australia - 96 kms. Took a photo of the first bend.

The road was reasonably quiet but a couple of truck loads had us intrigued:- an ocean going yacht, a cabin cruiser,  8 swimming pools stacked inside each other like cupcake patti-pans and 8 trucks with plastic wrapped 'somethings'. We later heard from a truckie they were 4.8 metres wide motel units. Took up quite a bit of the road.

Finally ended up at Jillah rockhole just west of Mundrabilla where we bush camped, along with about 6 other campers. Plenty of space and trees. So dark outside.
